EDMONTON: What makes the Canadian Roadshow Tours so special? Stories like this.     The Stang Family Story.    A young and courageous Mikael Stang came to Canada from Russia as a poor man and crossed the Atlantic with his new wife in the terrible discomfort of steerage back in 1908, eventually settling down on a farm in Macklin, Saskatchewan with a  remarkable dedication and commitment to a harsh and difficult new life in the Dominion which should humble us all. In time they raised eight fine sons.    The Stang family were remarkable for but one simple thing, in as much as the whole family played a major role in the war effort, as did their grandson, serving King and country with the last of the Stang sons in his late 90’s, passing just a few weeks back.     Mike Stang senior famously said. “Some of us can fight, some of us can’t, but all Canadians can do their share to help us win. And every citizen of Canada should do their part.”       The Canadian Government were naturally very impressed with the Stang families magnanimous role and the lead they took as a fine and courageous example to all Canadians in doing their own very special part for Canada and the allies in the fight for a free world.      As the aged framed newspaper article proudly owned by the last surviving member of the family, a great niece shows, the Government chose the Stang’s to promote War Bonds and in recognition of their dedication to Canada the Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King, PC, OM, CMG wrote personally to Mr and Mrs Stang senior in recognition of their patriotic spirit.    The Stangs remain unto this day a huge credit to their family name and to the great nation of Canada which they loved    Following a visit to the Roadshow, Mike Stangs great niece now intends to donate the collection to a principal museum where it will be conserved and appreciated by Canadians forever.

Jean Paul Riopelle. $60,000.00-to- 80,000.00, Joaquin Torres Garcia $100,000.00, followed by Fiorini, Knowles, Coburn and Galloway, Alexander Jackson ....... Then the storm broke and we didn't know what hit us!. Nearly $500,000.00 worth of fabulous paintings from just one Edmontonian and all in less than half an hour

 The antique and art experts of the British Artiques roadshow are back in Canada again this spring with the ever popular Canadian specialist roadshow tour of antiques and collectibles appraisals events going right across Canada from coast to coast.

 Spectacular sell out Canadian antiques roadshow type events are expected again this year across the country, with antiques and art appraisal roadshows starting on the east coast at the end of April before heading west to British Columbia and Alberta at the Sherwood Park Mall.

 We are particularly delighted to be back in Edmonton this May at the invitation of the Sherwood Park Mall Shopping Centre, for a special three day roadshow event. As this is the only roadshow scheduled in Edmonton this tour, it is expected to sell out rapidly and bring in people from all over Alberta.

Remember, Sherwood Park Mall's roadshow is by appointment only to avoid long queues and disappointment.

 With well over a decade of hugely successful antiques roadshow appraisal events across Canada behind us, the British Artiques roadshow and its expert art and antiques appraisers are always pleased to be asked back to Canada for another tour of antique appraisal roadshows across the Dominion and in particular we look forward to a great roadshow of antiques appraisals hosted by the Sherwood Park Mall for the Edmonton community this May.

 For many years, the roadshow organisers have included Edmonton in the busy antiques roadshow event schedule with huge sell ourt success and the roadshow has been eagerly followed by both CTV and Breakfast Television. This year we are delighted that the Sherwood Park Mall's management team responded so swiftly and offered to bring the British Artiques roadshow to Edmonton for a special three day roadshow appraisal event and that the Sherwood Park Mall are hosting the roadshow for the benefit of the whole of the city of Edmonton and the Albertan community this May 16th 17th and 18th.

 The roadshow team are convinced that with such a strong contingent of the Edmonton community having their ancestral roots firmly planted in Britain and Europe that Sherwood Park Mall Edmonton will abound in treasures and family heirlooms that people are just itching to learn about.

 Over the years, Canadian communities have turned out to the British Artiques roadshow antiques appraisal events in their thousands for antiques, art and collectibles appraisals at packed roadshow venues across the Dominion. In fact ever since the first ever British Roadshow was hosted twelve years ago in Ontario, we have been packed with eager Canadian's yearning to know about their precious belongings.

Roadshow antiques and art appraisal events are always sold out early here in Canada with people keen to find out whether Grannies heirloom is just trash or treasure. The roadshow's organisers and appraisers are sure that the Sherwood Park Mall, antique and art appraisal roadshow event will be just as successful

 Frankly, its nearly always a treasure of one kind or another that the roadshow appraiser sees and with nearly $60 Million dollars worth of Roadshow antiques and collectibles showing up already across Canada, the British Artiques roadshow is looking forward to coming back to Alberta to unravel some more myths and legends, appraise and value family heirlooms for the Edmonton community and hopefully help and advise you professionally, entertainingly and without bias or prejudice.

 With the information already leaked that the roadshow was coming to Edmonton and the Sherwood Park Mall this spring, we're told that the word is already getting around Edmonton and that the phone will start to ring loud at the Sherwood Park Mall and appointments for booking your antiques appraisal will sell out rapidly.

However, it is quite normal that the event is likely to attract local media attention, such as journalists and news crews. Under those conditions alone, your permission may be sought for interview which you are perfectly at liberty to decline.
